Make sure the line goes on the spool the same way it comes off .It will twist if you dont .use a weight 3 feet above your bait and add a swivel .this way the bait can move freely and the fish doesn’t get a mouth full of weight . Your pole should have a sticker of what line you can use for that pole .I string my pole with heavy line but i like to use a lighter line for my leader ,.Usually 3 ‘ of leader . Be sure to use a slip weight .

First you need to run the line through all of the eyes upward on your rod until you have ran through them all, leave yourself about 12-18 inches of line. Then , depending on what kind of fishing you are doing you would add some sinkers, there are a few different types. I wouls suggest split shot, that just wrap around your line and tighten with pliers. Put them approximately 4-6 inches from the end of your line. Then you need to either tie a hook on, or tie a swivel on. A swivel is what you can put the hook or artificial lures on with. But some people just tie the hook using a slip knot. I wish you the best of luck and hope I’ve been some help.
